Winamp, the latest company to combine nostalgia and crypto, will release a non-fungible coin (NFT) related to its media player’s original 1997 aesthetic appearance. Between May 16th and May 22nd, Winamp will auction the NFT through OpenSea, followed by a separate sale of 1997 total NFTs based on 20 artworks taken from the original skin. The money will go to the Winamp Foundation, which has pledged to contribute it to charitable causes, beginning with the Belgian Music Fund.
