Telegram founder wants to explore web3-based auctions for custom usernames.

Pavel Durov, who created Telegram, said Monday that he wants to add web3 to the messaging app.

Durov said on his Telegram channel that he was impressed by the TON project, which is not related to Telegram and is a separate project. The TON project is used to auction off domain names and wallets. He said that Telegram could copy TON’s auction on the app by putting custom usernames, group, and channel links on the auction on the blockchain, just like NFTs.
