Sam’s Anchor Cafe, which has been in business since 1920 on the San Francisco Bay, has just finished a successful launch of its first NFT (non-fungible token) collection. The limited-edition Sam’s Bootleggers NFTs, which raised more than $300,000, sold out quickly.
Bootleggers NFTs were made in honor of the late Sam Vella, a notorious bootlegger who started Sam’s during Prohibition. They will let people skip the line and make reservations, which is a first in the 102-year history of the Marin County restaurant. There are also gift cards, exclusive items, and access to special events. ViciNFT, an NFT developer based in San Francisco, worked with Sam’s to make 244 Bootleggers. Each piece cost $2,000, and the whole collection was sold out before it even went on sale.
