Olive Allen, a Russian visual artist, and New York City resident, has taken a unique stance against the bloodshed in Ukraine by burning her home country’s passport outside the Russian consulate. “I destroyed my passport because I don’t believe in Putin’s Russia and I oppose the conflict in Ukraine,” Allen explained. The artist filmed footage of her act of disobedience and auctioned it off as an NFT on the @superrare.co marketplace. She subsequently gave the whole auction profits (3.66 eth, or more over $9,000) to Save the Children Ukraine.
