“500 cards printed, 400 burned, 99 will remain in the PegzDAO, and ONE is being auctioned here,” Pepe’s inventor Matt Furie, who issued the bathing Pepe NFT, hinted in his advertisement for the sale that the NFT would be the only one sold through Furie’s PegzDAO.
However, after Thayer purchased the NFT, Furie is said to have given away 46 identical cards for free. Matt Furie and PegzDAO are now being sued by Thayer for “unfair, deceptive, false, and misleading advertising and unjust behavior.”
