The United States has shut down another shady Instagram influencer who tried to scam their followers out of crypto. Jebara Igbara, who used the online name Jay Mazini, pleaded guilty to many crimes, including stealing $2.5 million worth of Bitcoin from his followers.
Igbara would say on Instagram that he would buy people’s Bitcoin for 3% more than what it was worth on the market, saying that exchanges would only let him buy so much. He would then use Photoshop to make it look like he had sent money to his followers. Igbara could now go to jail for up to 20 years.
