Beginning June 3rd, Facebook will no longer support podcasts on its platform. Users will no longer be allowed to post new content as early as this week, and Soundbites and the central audio hub will be phased down shortly after. Following that, a Meta spokesman verified all of this information before to Bloomberg and emphasized the company’s long-term strategy to “focus on the most meaningful experience.” For the time being, this appears to be Reels (Meta’s response to TikTok’s popularity) and the still rather opaque metaverse.
